Many times goverment representivies that do not live in a community make decissions without consulting the people. No town hall meetings to allow public input. This causes the problem with the people being out of touch with the decission makers. Also, many times the decision makes are missing key elements that could provide them a better solution. There are times that some of the key elements missed could come from the people. The Elk Valley and South Country Health Care Coalition would like to help Interior Health and the BC Provincial goverment with information that they can make informed decisions for the communities of the Elk Valley (Baynes Lake, Elko, Fernie, Hosmer, Sparwood & Elkford). We have members that are from all these communities. We will also be working with each communities council, providing updates on the progress made with Interior Health and the issues that we are working on. The Elk Valley and South Country Health Care Coalition goal is to have the highest possible level of health care in the Elk Valley for the citizens that live here and for our visitors that come to the Elk Valley for work or recreation.
